Agricultural workers, who are directly responsible for producing healthy food and economic gain for California, often find themselves at serious risk for life-threatening chronic diseases caused by poor nutrition and little or no access to health care or services, while often living and working in unsafe and unsanitary conditions.
Together with St. Joseph's Hospital, CHD has been funded through the California Endowment and CSD to implement the Poder Popular Program, which will address these types of health issues within the agricultural community in Napa and Sonoma Counties.
For the next three years CHD will serve agricultural workers with health-related services.
