Rural Americorps Partnership Program

Through the Rural AmeriCorps Partnership Program, members provide academic mentoring/tutoring to English Learner Students in K - 8th grades, help parents get involved in their child's school, and through experience learning and community service develop a greater sense of themselves, their capabilities, and experience the great satisfaction that comes from serving others.

The AmeriCorps motto is Getting Things Done. And they do! AmeriCorps members serve almost 200 students each term by helping them learn to speak, read, and write English, and by increasing communication between parents and the school. They serve their community by volunteering at community events and holding their own events such as a shoe drive for farm workers on Cesar Chavez Day and handing out food baskets to farm workers during the holidays. Many of our former AmeriCorps members have gone on to study teaching or other professions and we are extremely proud of them and their accomplishments.
